The time we both wore rainbow stripes and how it will not happen to you.

When I was younger as part of my job, I had to go to functions. Now I always had a complex around turning up wearing the same thing as someone else and I must have thought about it far too much, because it happened.

I had bought a rainbow stripey top from a high street brand, turned up at the event and someone else had the same top on as me, I was horrified and so I kept my blazer done up, hoping nobody would notice.

Vowing it would not happen again, for any event I bought something new, at extremely expensive shops where they only had a couple of the same sizes, so I would not be the same as anyone else.

I knew then I wanted to be seen as an individual and not blend in.

Ok, a delightful story, what has it got to do with yarn, I hear you say.

That’s why we dye up small batches of one of a kind (OOAK) colourway, which won’t be repeated in the same way, so you can buy a vibrant, colourful skein of yarn, that you can use in your knitting, crochet or weaving. You can add it to something you are making of make something all in one variegated yarn, your choice. When we talk dyeing up small batches we mean up to four of 100g skein, up to four of 50g skein, up to five of a mini skein and when it comes to fibre, only two dyed at a time.

Everyone deserves to feel special, to be seen for who they are…. unique and individual.

So today, many years on, it still crosses my mind someone may wear the same thing as me, and if they do, I will just say we both have great taste!!
